Updated sometime in June 2005

Remember that movie Tommy Boy, in the beginning when he's checking his exam score... : D plus?  Oh my God......I passed.  I PASSED.  I'm gonna graduate!!!" Well anyway, I just did that.  Except for the D plus.  I think it was higher.

I graduated and got the hell out of Jacksonville.   I'll miss the beach and my friends there...but not much else.  What a segregated city.   Props to Mattie for teaching me patience with monkeys.  And Nick too; whose drunken quasi-conspiratorial rants have always entertained me.  Can't forget the workout buddy, Mr. Mike Piddy Palmer, especially for the covert door replacement operation in the Apartment.  I'll also miss KILLA, the beautiful Emily Booth, who bears a striking resemblance to Jodie Foster.  I look forward to your next party Emily.  Peace out to Travis, Bryan, Curt and of course Jason and his 20 tattoos with 20 matching puppies.

So I get back in May and my accountant informs me (my accountant being the online banking I use) that I have made enough money working and with graduation money, that I don't have to work this summer if I don't want to.  Aside from not writing as much as I should or going to the gym as much as I should, my activities are best described by quoting the Hollywood classic, "Office Space" :

"Yesterday I did nothing, and it was all I thought it could be."

But seriously I need to get off my ass and be more productive.

In writing news I posted a short story called Cling.  It's revised and is the best work I have done.  I'm also working on a piece about what I learned in college.

Current music - Fallout Boy,  Coldplay's new album, some Bob Dylan (Isis, The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll)

Current movies - Episode III, Batman Begins, Batman (with Jack Nicholson).  Looking forward to War of the Worlds.  I hope we win.

Current television -   The Daily Show, Conan O'Brien.  I've been trying to catch the new season of Family Guy.  "You can't eat all those hamburger's you crazy man you."

 March 4,2004

OKAYYYYY...it's been AWHILE since I've updated this site.  I've just been too lazy slash busy to update it.  But there have been a few changes in me and my life.  One big one is my New Car, I wish I had a picture of me grinning like an idiot standing by it like I am somehow responsible for it, but I don't, so I'll just put a picture of it.

There it is, a Mitsubishi Montero Sport 2002 Limited.  Gotta thank the parents their beautiful credit line they let me use, and also my grandfather for throwing down the down payment.  The fact that I have leather seats means I can now, officially, die a happy man.  You can also just imagine me standing by the car, grinning like an idiot, like I somehow deserve it.

In other news, I've been working as an EMT at a private ambulance company.  We don't do many emergency calls, so most of the time, I just drive an ambulance from point A to point B.  So far I haven't been hit on by too many nurses, but it does make you appreciate your youth, and life itself a little more.  And to all children:  Don't put your parents in a nursing home, unless it is the last resort.

I mean that.

Other news...I'm getting back into Paintballing, since everyone needs a hobby, and writing is too complicating to be the only hobby I have.  My new gun should be here soon.  : )

UPDATE Oct 9, 2003 .   Hmmm...it's been a very interesting week, a lot of positive things occurring in my life.  I've been working on some more WRITINGS  .... and I also have been looking for a job, but being that I would rather "focus" on "schoolwork" it is slow progress on the job front.

Also...BLAKE is learning to SURF...very very slowly.  I've gotten up a few times for a few seconds, but mostly I just am trying to learn how to not get my ass thrown off the surfboard when I am trying to paddle out behind the sets, and I find myself just a little bit frustrated when everyone else 10 times faster and better than I am.

I am not a patient man.

 Updated Sept 17, 2003

I have done it.  I am an EMT.  Last Friday I passed the state exam in Orlando.  I wasn't too nervous because I knew would pass, but it worried me when the two people in front of me FAILED.  I made an 89%, which isn't too bad considering you need a 70 or above to pass, but if you think about it, it means that about 1 out of every 10 things I should know, I don't.  Let's hope they aren't too important.

Got some new tunes up, check them out on songs page.

- Updated August 25, 2003  -Well it happened finally.  I turned 21 people...twenty frickin one.  I was privileged to turn the hour with the eloquent Betsinger and the illustrious Kryger.  I have taken the liberty of scanning the pictures and putting them up here.

Here is the Synopsis of the night:

Blake "Hmmm, a local tavern.  Perhaps I shall wet my whistle."

Updated June 29, 2003 - I put up some new writings on the web page and updated the Music/songs  page.  Check back in awhile I will put up a movies page, being that I am a movie buff.

Just got back from fishing trip with my Dad and Betsinger.  Pretty good trip, except for almost getting head knocked off by an anchor and the 2.3 million mosquito bites on me; I look like I have chickenpox or something.

I have a pass/fail midterm to take and I can't get below an 80 for my EMT class.  That and my first clinical rotation is July 4th, so I should be pretty busy...you'd all better be safe or it might be me coming to your house/party/boating accident.  Anyway wish me luck.

Updated June 10th, 2003.  Man this weekend was sweet.  Saw Third Eye Blind in concert, and they performed my favorite song.  Almost got in a fight with a drunk guy there, but played it cool because I didn't want to let Stephan Jenkins down.  Went fishing with Dad and caught me a big ol' fish, 33 lb King Mackerel.  (Instead of a bird/sailboat, I'll have to write a story up about that).
